If you need big distance or just sheer brute power to penetrate concrete and steel in a large city, this is the one. As ever, we have tried to make installation and power up as easy as possible. For the Stereo with Audio Processing and RDS version all you need is a quality mixer (and great radio presenters). Just connect the output of the mixer directly the gold plated RCA inputs on the back panel of the driver. Connect the transmitter 1000W output to a suitable 50 ohm antenna that can handle 1000W. That's it!! switch on, if you don't see any reflected power on the front panel, you are broadcasting serious power and serious distance.
The power output of this transmitter is 1kW continuous day and night non stop 24/7. It has reflected power protection and it has over temperature protection. In the event of any of these protections being activated, the power will reduce to a safe level to prevent any damage. When the fault that triggered the protections clears, the power restores automatically back to full.
The final output section of this transmitter uses a BLF188XR, they say the XR means 'eXtremely Rugged' This LDMOS RF power transistor is designed for the toughest engineering environments and is capable of withstanding a severe load mismatch with VSWR greater than 65:1 at 5 dB of compression. The BLF188XR is actually capable of providing an outstanding 1600 W of peak output power and still pass extreme ruggedness testing. For ultra reliability we just run it at 1kW maximum. It can be set at lower power levels, right down to 10W if required.
The stereo version comes complete with fully programmable dynamic RDS. This means the transmitter can be connected to a PC by a USB cable. The transmitters RDS circuit will pick the Artist and Song name from any folder on the PC disk drive.. This folder is easy to set up in the DJ playout software, like Zara Studio etc. Detailed information HERE.
The stereo version with audio processing and RDS is available or the straight raw composite MPX version. If you're not sure which version you need, then it's a high probability that need the stereo version with audio processing and limiting. In any case the stereo version has the option of MPX input, it can be used for both. If you wish to connect the unit to external processing such as Optimod, Inovonics, Breakaway, StereoTool etc you should use the MPX version More Information HERE.

The transmitter will work with any 50 ohm antenna rated at 1000W or higher. Suitable antennas that we sell for this unit are:
Vertical 5/8 Wave
4 Way Stacked Dipole
8 Way Stacked Dipole
Circular Dipole
Folded Dipole
Our 10KW EIRP and 5KW EIRP include this transmitter packaged in with coaxial cable and a suitable antennas. These full systems are engineered to comply with the EU standards and regulations for licensed broadcasting and most other countries regulations in the world.
The frequency and power level is easy to change, but not so easy that somebody with no experience can just press a button on the front, that would be too easy and dangerous. We reached a compromise with this, we placed these controls on the underside of the unit. To get to them, just slide the unit out of the rack, flip it over and the little dip switches will allow you to change the frequency and a trim pots for the power and deviation level.
The stereo version with audio processing and limiting meets all the regulatory standards required out of the box and pre configured. In fact if you send us a copy of your permit and it's conditions, we will set it up exactly to the specification. This equipment complies with EU/CE harmonised standards and FCC technical requirements for FM broadcasting. More information HERE
