The left and right audio signals at line level 0dBu to +4dBu (unbalanced and adjustable) plug directly into the rear of the Instreamer via standard RCA/Phono sockets. This audio signal is then converted to a digital stream (multiple standards available and selectable) that outputs from the rear panel via an RJ45 socket. The RJ45 socket is then connected via a standard RJ45 to RJ45 Cat5 network/Ethernet cable to the internet router.
The YouTube video below is a demonstration of the automatic USB audio start up when the main stream goes down.
The internet router connects the digital stream to Exstreamer via a standard RJ45 to RJ45 Cat5 network/Ethernet cable. This digital stream is then converted back to the original left and right audio signals at line level 0dBu to +4dBu (unbalanced and adjustable).
Both units are configured and adjusted by a web interface that is accessed by a computer that is connected to the same router by WiFi or a network cable. These units do not require a computer for operation, the computer is only required to make adjustments or change the configuration. The Instreamer and Exstreamer, contain their own mini computer or microprocessor and will operate with the internet router without a computer in sight. Power supplies are included for 110/115/120 or 220/230/240 VAC to operate the units. The DC voltage input is 9 to 30 V (4 watts) so connection for battery backup is very easy.
