Our amplifiers have a uniform input requirement of 1W. In other words, when driven with 1W of power, this amplifier is capable of producing 1000W of RF output continuously, while still adhering to global technical regulations.

The first version of this unit was designed for use in the middle of East Africa, so we had to make it good, in fact not just good, amazingly good. We didn't disappoint our client, it was installed 5 years ago and is still fully operational, running day in and day out in the heat of Africa. If the ambient goes beyond 40C, the internal temperature protection starts to back off the RF power, gently, not any abrupt cut out, just a little to keep the internal temperature below 70C.
The final output section of this model uses a BLF188XR, they say the XR means 'eXtremely Rugged' This LDMOS RF power transistor is designed for the toughest engineering environments and is capable of withstanding a severe load mismatch with VSWR greater than 65:1 at 5 dB of compression. The BLF188XR is actually capable of providing an outstanding 1600 W of peak output power and still pass extreme ruggedness testing. For ultra reliability we just run it at 1kW maximum. It can be set at lower power levels, right down to 10W if required.
Regardless of high temperature, high VSWR poor antenna and mismatch conditions or poor AC power, the power level of 1000W will remain stable all the time and the RF signal will never pollute the spectrum with instabilities. The output amplifier in this unit is designed to work in hostile conditions and environments. The BBC, British Army and US Army Delta Company all purchased these units for use in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The AC version of this product is genuinely universal and can be used with any AC outlet worldwide, supporting a voltage range of 90 to 260V at a frequency of either 50 or 60Hz.
