This square shaped 'cycloid' antenna gives true circular polarization and can handle immense power. It is available in 800W (N type) or 3kW (DIN-716) and in Aluminum or Stainless Steel. We believe it's the best value and most robust circular antenna for your money on the market, you won't get a better deal than this.
The full wideband frequency tuning is easy. The tuning bar you see on the picture has two positions, one for 87 to 98 MHz and the other for 98 to 108 MHz. The bottom or top half of the 87 to 108 MHz band is selected with this bar and then the vertical tubes are adjusted in length to arrive at the exact frequency between 87 to 98 MHz or 98 to 108 MHz. A VSWR of less than 1.3 can be expected at the chosen frequency.
Stacking this antenna to obtain increased ERP is absolutely possible and encouraged. Stacking 2, 4 or 8 circular antennas is normal, this can be done using traditional splitters or driving them from separate amplifiers up to 3kW each. For example, eight of these antennas stacked driven by eight separate amplifiers of 3kW each would result in radiated circular polarized signal of 150kW EIRP or 90kW ERP, that's about as big as it gets for FM broadcasts. The antenna is constructed from large aluminum or stainless-steel tubes and there are no small coils or capacitors that can burn out, it is designed for pure power! The only limiting factor to the power of this circular antenna is the RF coaxial cable connector. In the case of N-type this is 800W and with DIN-716 it is 3kW. The whole design is elegant with simplicity that we arrived at over years and years of field testing by clients and modeling by our technical department. It is a masterpiece of antenna engineering.
