How Far Will 2.5kW Reach?

This type of power and antenna should be mounted on a least a two story building and on top of a 12ft / 3.5mt pole. If this condition is met and the building is on high ground, then up to 85km is possible with high quality radio receivers, Expect about half this range with lower quality radio receivers. 5/8 Wave 4.8dBi Gain Antenna

Almost like magic the 5/8 WAVE ANTENNA transforms the transmitter power by 3 times to 2.5kW and this is even after taking the cable losses into account. This transformed signal is effective radiation, what it means is that if you stand at the horizon many miles away, the signal voltage with this antenna will be exactly the same and indistinguishable from the signal voltage of a 2.5kW transmitter using just one dipole antenna. The power is effectively identical, hence the name EFFECTIVE ISOTROPIC RADIATED POWER (EIRP).

20 Metre (66 Feet) Antenna Cable

This package uses 66ft / 20mt of LMR400 antenna cable. The loss on this cable and plus the antenna gain actually results in an EIRP of over 2500 watts.

FM Stereo Audio and Processing

The FM signal starts in the internal Veronica PLL which produces the super low noise and highly stable FM signal. You can find more info on this at in our 1W Exciter (PLL driver). Then the internal stereo coder and audio processor boards provide a loud and crisp audio signal on the listeners radio. If your more of an expert, you can if you want use an external processor such as Orban, Inovonics or PC generated MPX/RDS, the limiter and stereo coder we supply can be completely disabled.

• EN 301489-11 V1.3.1 (2006-05) EMC Electromagnetic Compatibility when used with 1 meter AC mains cord supplied. If the installation engineer needs to extend this cord, this and the audio input cable should be no more than 3 meters in length to remain in compliance with EMC directive.
