24/7 Non-Stop in High Temperature

This unit is designed with high reliability in mind. The cooling system incorporates one front 80mm fan to force cool the RF heatsinks and two 60 mm fans extracting from them. There is an additional 60mm fan to cool the power supplies. The amplifier is cool to touch by hand, even when we tested it in Spain, in summer, outside at ambient temperatures in excess of 40C. To maintain long term reliability the power amplifiers are fitted with two 150 watt Mosfets. This gives generous power headroom and the capability of Non-Stop high reliability operation anywhere in the world.

Full High SWR Protection

During severe antenna reflections (poor SWR, Return Loss) the amplifier will automatically foldback the power to a safe level to protect itself, the antenna and cables from damage. When the antenna becomes good again, full power automatically restores. The front panel has a meter lit up in blue to indicate forward and reflected power. This protection for SWR and reflected power works for any duration of time.

Antenna

On delivery the equipment is ready to plug in and use with any suitable 50 ohm antenna system such as our Vertical 5/8 Wave, Single Dipole, 2 Way Stacked Dipole, 4 Way Stacked Dipole, 8 Way Stacked Dipole or Circular/Mixed antennas.

Each amplifier block uses separate 10 pole low pass filters which are then joined together with a lumped LC version of the Wilkinson combiner configuration. This is brutal filtering ensuring no harmonics or out of band spurious get to the the output. This guarantees the spurious and harmonic signals remain within the tough EU spec of -75dB rtc. (Sec 4.11.1 ETS 300 384), this in turn easily puts them within the FCC and Industry Canada spec.

Truly Plug and Play

Unlike other power amps on the market, this unit is complete, tested and ready to use on delivery. The internal power supply accepts 90 to 260V AC making it suitable for use in all countries of the world. Just hook up the amplifier to your antenna, transmitter drive and mains power supply. Never take off the lid, no tuning needed, no test equipment required. This unit is truly plug and play. It is suitable for use with all our 1W drivers and possibly other manufacturers 1W transmitter drivers, you would need to check this with us.
