500W ERP FM TRANSMITTER SYSTEM
PROFESSIONAL RANGE
This system includes everything you need to get the radio transmission side of your station up and running on delivery. The only thing you need to provide is a pole, mast or tower to put the antennas on and a standard stereo line (0dBm) audio signal from your studio or link equipment.

This package includes:

- 19" Rack FM Stereo Exciter with Limiter
- 19" Rack 200W Amplifier
- 20 Meter Foam Grade Antenna Cable
- Available with the option of 5/8 Antenna or 2 Way Stacked Dipole (+4.8dB Gain)

This is a tried and tested combination that will function 24 hours a day 7 days a week in any climate. If you are looking for a value for money system, high power output and long term reliability, this is the one.

The driver and amplifier in this system are neatly housed in professional 19 inch black enclosures. The equipment is EMC suppressed to European standards and complies with European Telecommunication Standard ETS 300 384.

The differences between the 2 Way Stacked Dipole and the 5/8 Antenna. The gain and therefore the power output from each antenna is exactly the same, 4.8dBi. However there are the following physical differences.

The 2 Way Stacked Dipole - This antenna is slightly more difficult to install and requires about 4 meters of vertical space mounted to the side of the pole or tower. This antenna will function from 87.5 to 108 MHz without any tuning, just change the transmitter frequency. Instructions are supplied to show the station engineer how to set this system to any frequency from 87.5 to 108.0 MHz.

The 5/8 antenna is easier to install, it installs on the top of the tower or pole, but it is has a narrow frequency range. If in the future you want to change frequency, the transmitter can be changed easily, but you will need to purchase another 5/8 antenna for the new frequency. If you order the package with this antenna you need to select the frequency you require between 87.5 and 108 MHz in the box below.

500 WATTS Effective Radiated Power - The combination of 200 watts amplifier power, 20 meters of foam grade LMR400 and the high powered 4.8dBi gain antenna results in a radiated power of 500 watts (0.5 KW). To a listener at the horizon this is equal and identical to the signal received from a 500 watt transmitter with a single dipole antenna.

HOW DOES IT WORK!

19" Rack FM Stereo Exciter with Limiter - This neat, simple and great looking 2U 19" rack unit with intense blue LEDs produces the high quality FM stereo signal at your chosen frequency. The signal is excited up to 1 watt of RF ready for further amplification. The limiter and stereo coder can be completely disabled if you want to use an external processor such as Orban, Inovonics or PC generated MPX/RDS. This unit complies with European standards ETS 300384 for R&TTE, EN 301 489-11 for EMC and (LVD) 2006/95/EC for safety.

19" Rack 200 Watt Amplifiers - The amplifiers produces 200 watts of transmitter power and will operate with ease at full power 24 hours a day non stop in any country and with any AC voltage in the world. The amplifier has a neat little meter on the front panel lit up with intense blue LED's to indicate forward and reflected power. The RF output power of the amplifier automatically folds back to a safe level when there is fault condition of poor SWR and return loss of any level for any duration of time. When the fault clears the amplifier restores to full power.

20 Meter Antenna Cable - This cable is high quality using foam dielectric and carries the radio signal 20 meters to the antenna with only a loss of 0.8dB, this would normally be used for stations with towers, or masts of 15 meters in height.

High Gain 5/8 Antenna or Stacked Dipole (+4.8dB Gain) - We have been manufacturing and selling antennas since 1996, some our customers who purchased our antennas back in 1996 are still using them today, they are great credit to Veronica and Aareff. Our 5/8 antenna even found it's way to the top of the Greenpeace ship Rainbow Warrior a few years ago. Our high gain antennas are very robust and will effectively multiply the power horizontally to the horizon making sure maximum signal is efficiently put in the right place and not wasted into space or ground.

Over the last 12 years in Africa and Middle East alone we sold our systems into Congo, Uganda, Liberia, Zambia, Yemen, Rep South Africa, Oman, United Arab Emirates, Tanzania, Southern Sudan, Kenya, Ghana, Gambia, Nigeria and Niger. Our transmitters are very popular in very hot climates as they handle the heat and the dust very well under 24/7 operation.

We have tried to think of everything you will need to save you time when doing the installation. The package also includes, antenna mounting brackets, nuts and bolts, even the cable ties to strap your antenna cable to the mast. All you need to provide, is a tower or mast (at least 15 meters in height) to install the antenna system on and a standard line level stereo audio feed from your studio mixer or link.

Our final word, at Aareff / Veronica we are primarily engineers with a passion for radio, not sales people. If you have any technical questions please feel free to email us.
